The patented cavitation technology and the CaviFlow® inline modules enable the mixing and homogenization of stable emulsions based on sustainable (bunker) fuels - without any chemical additives. These advanced fuel emulsions reduce consumption, lower emissions and ensure phase consistency for safe storage and transportation.

During a test with an HFO biodiesel blend and CaviFlow® cavitation technology, significant performance improvements were observed:


  • The measured dynamic viscosity at 50 °C decreased by 13.3 %, which improves the flowability of the fuel and contributes to more efficient combustion.
  • In addition, the daily fuel requirement was reduced by around 4 %.
  • For an MR tanker with a load capacity of around 55,000 DWT, this corresponds to a saving of around 1.2 tons of fuel per day.

RAPTECH Sustainable fuels as a future-oriented emulsion solution

RAPTECH's innovative developments in the field of sustainable fuels are based on a state-of-the-art cavitation process that has been specially designed for the efficient production of low-emission alternative fuels. The technology has been extensively tested on the company's own UADA pilot plant - a unique test platform in Europe - and successfully validated under real-life conditions. By using this process, fuel emulsions can be efficiently produced which, as climate-friendly fuels, meet the requirements for the CO₂-free fuels of the future.

The use of CaviFlow® cavitation technology in an HFO biodiesel blend led to a reduction in viscosity of 13.3% and a reduction in fuel consumption of around 4%. For an MR tanker, this corresponds to a daily saving of around 1.2 tons of fuel.

Efficient emulsion technology for sustainable fuels in maritime and industrial applications

  • The RAPTECH CaviFlow® modules use targeted hydrodynamic cavitation to produce stable emulsions based on sustainable fuels. Components that are difficult to mix, such as heavy fuel oil, biodiesel and optionally water, are homogenized to create a finely dispersed fuel mixture. These emulsions are characterized by high stability, efficiency and long shelf life.

Thanks to the flexibly adjustable mixing ratio, sustainable, alternative fuels can be optimally adapted to the respective operating conditions. The process enables consumption-reduced, clean combustion and makes green fuels an economically and ecologically convincing alternative for energy supply.

The emulsions based on renewable energies produced in this way are particularly suitable for applications as sustainable marine fuels and in industrial energy systems.

The CaviFlow® inline modules from RAPTECH have been specially developed for the energy-efficient processing of sustainable fuels. Optimized combustion of sustainable fuels through finely dispersed emulsions

RAPTECH's innovative CaviFlow® cavitation technology enables the efficient homogenization of sustainable fuels, even with challenging components such as heavy fuel oil or biogenic blends.
