CaviFlow® Cavitation Modules

Multifunctional for viscous, multiphase and particle-containing media
RAPTECH CaviFlow® Plug & Play Inline Modules combine several functions, including mixing, homogenizing, emulsifying, dispersing, reaction intensification, cell disruption and extraction. Hydrodynamic Cavitation Technology enables efficient process intensification for industrial applications.

As a pressure-driven system, CaviFlow® operates without high-frequency energy supply and efficiently converts hydraulic energy into process effects. Operating costs are reduced as only the upstream pump requires electricity. Precise control allows the intensity to be adapted precisely to specific requirements.

Fast integration without high investment costs
RAPTECH CaviFlow® Modules are integrated inline into process systems via plug & play with their threaded or flanged connections and are ready for immediate use. Without high investment costs and with less maintenance than mechanical agitators and high-pressure homogenizers or rotor-stator homogenizers. CaviFlow® can be used across all industries with scalable flow rates from 6 m³/h to 100 m³/h and beyond.

As a static homogenizer and disperser, CaviFlow® requires little maintenance in harsh environments and can process viscous, multiphase and particle-containing media with the smallest particle sizes.

CaviFlow® Cavitation Module Functionality

CaviFlow® is a fluidically and acoustically designed inline module that induces cavitation by purely hydrodynamic means . The process fluid is directed under high pressure through specially designed, tiny nozzle openings within an acoustic plate. The resulting flow gradients generate high-intensity localized vortex zones and pressure differences. The liquid is additionally focused, separated and recombined by specifically arranged metallic structural elements within the flow channel - so-called pins - which further increases the cavitation induction.

Cavitation without external energy or ultrasound source
In contrast to conventional hydrodynamic or ultrasound-based cavitation technologies, the CaviFlow® Module does not require an external ultrasound source. Cavitation in CaviFlow® is generated solely by the internal flow and geometry design of the module itself. The process remains completely encapsulated in the cavitation unit and has no mechanical or damaging influence on downstream system components. Only the upstream pump consumes power.

  • No external ultrasonic source required
  • Cavitation generation purely through internal flow and geometry design
  • No mechanical stress or damage to downstream system components
  • Energy-efficient operation - power consumption exclusively via the upstream pump

Technical Data
The CaviFlow® Inline Modules are scalable for a wide range of flow rates and production volumes as well as liquids of different viscosities. Whether refinery, fuels, recycling management, water purification or chemicals - CaviFlow® is configured for your production. The modules are implemented in existing process plants using a simple plug & play solution.

  • Scalable for flow rates from 6 m³/h to 100 m³/h
  • Suitable for liquids with a wide range of viscosities
  • Standardized connections (DN 40 / DN 80 flange or 2" / 3" thread)

Several CaviFlow® Modules can be connected in series as a serial cascade to increase mixing quality and throughput. This allows even viscous media to be homogenized efficiently - flexible, scalable and easy to maintain.
